This photograph shows a close ventral view of the right hand of a 6-month-old female infant born with a chromosomal anomaly known as E syndrome (Trisomy 17-18). The hand is held in a clenched position, with the second and fifth fingers overlapping adjacent digits. The infant also presented with cleft lip and palate, a congenital heart defect resulting in cyanosis, a webbed neck, low-set ears, micrognathia, a small pelvis, and a short sternum.
