Under 125X magnification, this photomicrograph shows the morphologic features of the fungal organism Colletotrichum coccodes (formerly Colletotrichum atramentarium), designated CDC Diag. 45-1095-67. The organisms were isolated from a case of mycotic keratitis. Note the crescent-shaped conidia, predominantly arranged in clusters, with some projecting singly from the septate, filamentous hyphae.
