This image shows a close palmar view of the right hand of a 12-year-old girl demonstrating hyperpigmentation associated with systemic lupus erythematosus. See PHIL 23750 and 23751 for facial views of the same patient showing similar blotchy hyperpigmentation. The patient was treated with prednisone 30 mg daily and experienced complete resolution of facial hyperpigmentation within one month, while pigmentation of the hands improved only partially.
