This photomicrograph shows a section of a mycetomatous lesion demonstrating histopathologic features of a chronic inflammatory granule formed in response to infection with the ascomycetous mold Pseudallescheria boydii (formerly Allescheria boydii). The tissue section was stained using the hematoxylin-eosin (H&E) method.
