This image shows a frontal view of a test tube slant culture containing an unidentified growth medium inoculated with the actinobacterium Actinomadura madurae, strain 703 (formerly Streptomyces madurae). The organism produced a small, raised pink-gray colony with a highly convoluted surface texture. The specimen was donated by Dr. F. Mariat of the Institut Pasteur, Paris.
