This historic photograph was captured from inside a World Health Organization (WHO) Smallpox Eradication Program transport vehicle driven by WHO epidemiologist Marc A. Strassburg, MPH, DrPH. The view shows a military tank and machine-gun emplacement positioned at a roundabout, guarding nearly empty streets during a curfew in Dacca (Dhaka), Bangladesh, just days after the August 15, 1975 coup d'état and assassination of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
