Caption:
From 1965, this image depicts a dorsal view of a patient’s left hand, showing the effects of a snakebite injury involving the fifth digit. The snake species was not specified. Note the marked swelling of the hand, particularly the little finger, with bullous formation containing hemorrhagic fluid within the soft tissues. The digit also exhibits a dark bluish-purple discoloration consistent with subcutaneous hemorrhage.
