From 1965, this image depicts a male patient, highlighting marked swelling of the right hand following envenomation by a venomous snake of the genus Bothrops. Note the pronounced asymmetry when the right hand is compared with the left. The image was donated by Dr. Mario E. Pacheco of New Orleans, Louisiana.
