From 1965, this image depicts a bedridden patient viewed from above, showing the upper extremities. Note the marked swelling of the right arm following envenomation by an unspecified snake. The pronounced asymmetry between the right and left arms is evident, along with the presence of edematous blebs (blisters) resulting from venom-induced soft tissue injury. The image was donated by Dr. Mario E. Pacheco of New Orleans, Louisiana.
