From 1965, this image depicts a superior view of a patient’s feet, highlighting the right foot. Note the discoloration of the right great toe following envenomation by an unspecified snake. The violaceous coloration is consistent with necrosis due to venom-induced soft tissue injury. The image was donated by Dr. Mario E. Pacheco of New Orleans, Louisiana.
