From 1965, this image depicts a superior view of a patient’s brain obtained at autopsy following envenomation by an unspecified snake. Note the hemorrhagic changes, with pooling of blood within the sulci on the brain’s surface. The identity of the snake was not specified in the accompanying metadata. The image was donated by Dr. Mario E. Pacheco of New Orleans, Louisiana.
