Under low magnification, this photomicrograph shows a plate culture of Geotrichum candidum grown on eosin-methylene blue (EMB) agar and incubated for 24 hours. Branching, true hyaline, septate hyphae are present, which fragment to form chains of cylindrical, single-celled arthroconidia.
