This photomicrograph shows a plate culture of the yeast-like fungus Geotrichum candidum grown on cornmeal with Tween®-80 agar (CMTA). Branching, true hyaline, septate hyphae are present, which fragment into single-celled arthroconidia that form filamentous chains.
