Photographed in 1915 during World War I, this historic image depicts a method used to treat horses infested with scabies. The animal was enclosed within this apparatus, and sulfur dioxide was introduced into the chamber over a period of weeks to eliminate the mite infestation. The image was captured by a member of the Austrian Army.
