This image shows a close dorsal view of the right hand of a 6-year-old boy. A red, blotchy, papular rash is visible on the skin, predominantly over the knuckles. This rash has been attributed to the autoimmune condition dermatomyositis, which had been diagnosed 2 years prior to this image. See PHIL 24320 for an anterior view of this patient’s face demonstrating additional manifestations of this rash.
