Caption:
This image shows a dorsal view of the hands of a 1-year-old female patient. The patient had been diagnosed with a suspected viral condition, reticuloendotheliosis. Bilaterally, the hands demonstrate features of brachydactyly, an inherited condition characterized by shortening of the digits. Both ring (fourth) fingers also exhibit incurving, consistent with clinodactyly. See PHIL 24338 and 24339 for additional views of this patient’s condition, demonstrating abnormalities of the feet and jaundice, respectively.
