This image shows an anteroposterior (AP) chest radiograph dated June 12, 1962, of a patient later diagnosed with coccidioidomycosis caused by Coccidioides immitis. The radiograph demonstrates a right middle lobe infiltrate, elevation of both hemidiaphragms, and a nodular mass in the right anterosuperior mediastinum. The infection was reportedly acquired in East Point, Georgia, through exposure to contaminated fomites. See PHIL 24390 for a follow-up radiograph obtained 49 days later, demonstrating reduction in mediastinal adenopathy and parenchymal infiltration after treatment.
