This is an electron microscopic image of a Chapare virus isolate, obtained from a serum sample collected nine days post-symptom onset from a symptomatic patient with Chapare hemorrhagic fever in Bolivia, in 2019. The image shows typical arenavirus morphology with pleomorphic virions containing ribosomes.
