This image depicts a medial view of the left lower leg of a male patient demonstrating multiple maculopapular and pustular lesions consistent with fire ant stings caused by Solenopsis saevissima. This species, native to South America, was introduced into the United States through agricultural importation. Note the erythematous halo surrounding each pustular center.
