This image depicts an anterior view of both lower legs of a male patient demonstrating multiple maculopapular and pustular lesions consistent with fire ant stings caused by Solenopsis saevissima. This species, native to South America, was introduced into the United States through agricultural importation. Note the erythematous halo surrounding each pustular center. See PHIL 25044, 25045, and 25046 for additional views of the lesions.
