Under 450X magnification, this photomicrograph of a developing chick embryo highlights histopathologic changes in the ectodermal layer following inoculation with Neisseria gonorrhoeae, the causative agent of gonorrhea. Note the metaplastic changes occurring within the normal ectodermal cytoarchitecture.
