Under a magnification of 475X, this image depicts a close view of colonies grown on brain heart infusion (BHI) agar, inoculated with the Gram-positive bacterium Pseudopropionibacterium propionicum. This organism was previously classified as Propionibacterium propionicum, Arachnia propionica, and Actinomyces propionicus. After 48 hours of incubation, characteristic spider colonies are observed.
