This historic photograph was captured in September 1975 during a visit by Secretary of the Department of Health, Education, and Welfare (DHEW), Dr. Forrest David Mathews, to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). At this point in his visit, Dr. Mathews, standing at left, is shown being introduced to Dr. Roslyn Robinson by former CDC Director Dr. David Sencer, who stands at center. The introduction takes place in the lobby of former Building 1 on the organization’s Roybal Campus.
