This historic photograph was captured in September 1975 during a visit by Secretary of the Department of Health, Education, and Welfare (DHEW), Dr. Forrest David Mathews, to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) headquarters on the Roybal Campus in metropolitan Atlanta, Georgia. In this image, Dr. Mathews has just arrived at the facility and is shown being greeted by former CDC Director Dr. David Sencer, with William C. Watson at far left.
