Entitled Brucella, this illustration depicts the silhouettes of three domesticated farm animals: a cow, a pig, and a goat. Each is susceptible to a brucellosis infection. Brucella abortus primarily infects bovine species, B. suis infects swine, and B. melitensis infects sheep and goats. Humans may also acquire infection with these species through zoonotic transmission.
