Named after one of the fathers of malarial parasitology, Sir Ronald Ross KCB KCMG FRS FRCS, this historic photograph depicted the façade of the Ross Field Experimental Station for Malaria, situated at Karnal, Punjab, 75 miles north of Delhi. Included amongst several renowned malarial parasitologists standing in front of the facility’s entrance, were Dr. John A. Sinton, Dr. Bruce Mayne, Dr. Maurice Peltier, Dr. George Macdonald, Dr. Samuel R. Christophers, Dr. Nicolaas H. Swellengrebel, and Dr. Louis L. Williams.
