This illustration depicted a ventral view of a Liponyssoides sanguineus (Hirst) mite, formerly known as Allodermanyssus sanguineus, highlighting an anatomical feature on the underside of this mite, known as the anal plate. The four right legs had been excised. This arthropod is found in the subclass, Acari, and the family, Dermanyssidae.
