This image, dated 1979, presents the laboratory components used in a hemoglobin measurement test employing the cyanmethemoglobin, or hemiglobincyanide, method. This colorimetric spectrophotometric technique measures the absorbance of the resulting sample at 540nm using a photoelectric colorimeter spectrophotometer. Shown from left to right are an amber bottle containing cyanmethemoglobin reagent, a small Erlenmeyer flask containing a 4% sheep red blood cell (RBC) suspension, and a Class A 25ml volumetric flask with a glass stopper containing what appears to be a mixture of the reagent and RBC suspension.
