Caption:
A photomicrograph depicted a field of leukemia cells, which had been processed using direct fluorescent antibody staining technique (DFA), which caused the cells to glow bluish green, when viewed under fluorescent light. Using this staining technique, fluorescent dye is attached to the known antibodies that correspond to the suspected antigen, in this case, the leukemia cells. These antibodies will in turn attach to the antigen molecules on the cell surfaces, and if present, will fluoresce when viewed with a fluorescent light.
