This image depicts a frontal view of a Petri dish culture plate containing Sabouraud dextrose agar, inoculated with the dermatophytic fungus Epidermophyton floccosum, producing an off-white colony with a suede-like texture, a wrinkled, raised central region, and a fringed periphery. Note the smoother, whiter central areas indicating tufts of pleomorphic mycelia.
