Caption:
This x-ray depicts a dorsal view of a patient’s hands, revealing osteophytic changes involving multiple metacarpophalangeal (MP) joints, as well as the proximal interphalangeal (PIP) joints of both index fingers. These calcific changes are due to leprosy caused by the bacterium Mycobacterium leprae. This is the same patient whose foot x-ray is shown in PHIL 26575.
