Under 475X magnification, this photomicrograph highlights morphologic features of the fungal organism Pseudallescheria boydii, formerly known as Allescheria boydii. Note septate, hyaline, filamentous hyphae with long conidiophores bearing smooth, round, unicellular conidia. Some conidia are also formed directly from hyphal filaments.
