This image montage highlighted the effects of elephantiasis on the bodies of four different lymphatic filariasis patients. Patient-1, shows the severe swelling of the right lower limb. Patient-2, shows the severe swelling of both lower limbs. Patient-3, exhibited pronounced swelling of both lower limbs, and both arms and hands. Patient-4, shows the severe swelling of both lower limbs, and the scrotum. Lymphatic filariasis is a parasitic disease caused by mosquito-borne, thread-like filarial nematodes. The adult worms only live in the human lymphatic system, blocking the flow of lymph.
