Caption:
This photograph depicted a close anterior view of the male genitalia of a patient, who was diagnosed with lymphatic filariasis, a parasitic disease caused by mosquito-borne, thread-like filarial nematodes. These adult worms only live in the human lymphatic system, blocking the flow of lymph. Note the generalized edema affecting the penile shaft and preputial skin.
