This photograph highlights some of the gross pathologic changes exhibited by a liver tissue specimen that had been extracted from a patient who was ill with amebiasis. Note that the forceps had grasped a section of the liver tissue in order to better expose two light colored amebic abscesses in the hepatic parenchyma.
