Caption:
This image depicts a close view of a slide coagulase test, also known as a slide clumping test, performed as part of a Staphylococcus serology analysis. In this test, a sample of Staphylococcus sp. bacteria was mixed with a small amount of plasma. If the Staphylococcus sp. were coagulase-positive, clumping, or coagulation, would occur, as evidenced by the tiny aggregates of bacterial organisms seen in PHIL 27100. In this example, no clumping is evident, indicating a negative test result.
