Under a magnification of 128X, this photomicrograph shows a cardiac muscle tissue specimen obtained from a patient with giant cell myocarditis (GCM). Note the characteristic presence of numerous lymphocytes, scattered multinucleated giant cells, as well as areas of cardiac necrosis and diffuse fibrosis.
