At a magnification of 107X, this photomicrograph shows an unidentified Gridley-stained tissue specimen harvested from a patient diagnosed with paracoccidioidomycosis (PCM), caused by the fungal organism Paracoccidioides loboi, designated X398. Numerous yeast-like P. loboi cells are visible scattered throughout the tissue sample.
