This photograph from 1962 depicted an anterior view of a patient’s feet, demonstrating the hyperflexion of the toes of his right foot due to poliomyelitis, caused by the polio virus. See PHIL 27240, for a look at this patient’s legs and feet, highlighting the atrophic changes that had resulted from this viral disease.
