Caption:
This photograph shows a close view of a veterinarian’s right arm and left hand, highlighting multiple raised, erythematous lesions scattered over the lateral right elbow and lateral left hand. These lesions were attributed to a case of listeriosis caused by the bacterium Listeria monocytogenes, acquired following contact with an infected bovine. This represents an uncommon mode of transmission and may initially be misdiagnosed. See PHIL 27271 and 27272 for two additional views of this condition.
