Caption:
This photograph shows a close view of a veterinarian’s left ventral forearm, highlighting two pustular, erythematous lesions attributed to a case of listeriosis caused by the bacterium Listeria monocytogenes. The infection was acquired following contact with an infected bovine and represents an uncommon mode of transmission that may initially be misdiagnosed. See PHIL 27270 and 27271 for two addition views of this condition.
