Under a magnification of 450X, this photomicrograph of a fluorescent antibody (FA)-stained liver tissue sample was captured on the 7th-day post-infection with the malarial parasite, Plasmodium cynomolgi, and demonstrates the presence of a maturing schizont that was contained within a liver hepatocyte., during its exoerythrocytic maturation.
