This photograph depicts microbiologist, Mindy Elrod, and Epidemic Intelligence Service (EIS) officer, Julia Petras (EIS Class of 2021), while in Georgia, obtaining soil samples on the property of a Georgia patient, as part of a multi-state melioidosis outbreak investigation. An imported aromatherapy spray was later discovered to be the source of the outbreak.
