From 1959, this image focused on the back of a patient who was lying in a bed in a clinical setting, highlighting an oval-shaped decubitus ulcer, located in the right posterior thoracic region. This ulcer represented a secondary infection, which was caused by a Staphylococcus sp. bacterium, which had developed due to the patient’s extreme sedentary status while continuously lying in bed, thereby, placing pressure on this region of her back.
