This anterior view of a cat’s head highlighted crusty patches of skin, as well as overlying hair loss, caused by a dermatophytic infection commonly referred to as ringworm, or tinea, caused by the fungal organism, Microsporum canis. This image was captured prior to this animal receiving any type of antifungal therapy. See PHIL 27817, for the healthy appearance of this animal after having received 2-weeks of antifungal therapy with Griseofulvin.
