This image depicts a right lateral view of a young boy’s head, after having begun his treatment with the antifungal medication, griseofulvin, for a scalp condition known as tinea capitis, a form of ringworm. In this case, the infection was caused by the dermatophytic fungal organism, Microsporum canis. See PHIL 25378 and 25379, for the appearance of his scalp prior to instituting treatment.
