This image depicts a posterior view of a patient’s buttocks, which had exhibited signs of a cutaneous rash (see PHIL 27943) known as tinea corporis, a form of fungal infection commonly referred to as ringworm, caused in this case by an undisclosed fungal organism. This view was captured after initiating an undisclosed antifungal medicinal treatment.
