This image depicts a close dorsal view of a patient’s left foot, which included the great toe and second toe, highlighting the nail bed fungal infection known as tinea unguium, a form of ringworm. Note the thick, rough appearance of the nails, which appeared to be disintegrating at the free edges of the nail plates.
