This historic image from 1960, was captured in the Saudi Arabian city of Medina, and depicts the right extended forearm of a man, who had received a schistosomiasis skin test on the arm's volar surface, which had produced the two wheals that had been outlined by a pen line. One of the injections produced a wheal that was described as ameboid in its shape. The schistosomiasis antigenic injectable solution was comprised of three schistosomal antigens.
