Caption:
This image depicted a medial view of a gross pathology specimen of a patient’s left lung. The lung had been cut in a parasagittal plane, and in this view, the lateral half the left lung was highlighted. The patient was ill with a case of coccidioidomycosis, caused by the fungal organism of the genus, Coccidioides. The gross pathologic changes are indicative of a case of pneumonitis.
